Yaffa Abojaradeh (They/Them) is a disabled, trans, queer, Muslim, indigenous Palestinian Consultant who focuses on creating transformative work around displacement, decolonization, equity, and centering lived experiences of individuals most impacted by injustice. Currently, they are working as an independent Equity and Transformation consultant, supporting towns/municipalities, nonprofits, funders, religious and community centers, and for-profit corporations in the United States, Europe, and Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA) region. They have also supported state and federal services such as DCSF, mental health and substance use care, refugee resettlement, and housing services. Over the past 12 years, they have worked in more than two dozen countries, and specialize in global and community vision building and healing, as well as building spaces of safety, accountability, and belonging. They have founded multiple non-profits and initiatives, such as Life in My Days, Inc, Meraj Publishing, and CT Mutual Aid, that have reached tens of thousands of individuals in over 60 countries. Yaffa holds a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a speciality in sustainability and social engineering and worked as a Global Compliance and Quality Engineer with Avery Dennison for three years. Yaffa is a peer support specialist, has a traumatic stress graduate certificate, and holds a MA in Conflict Transformation and Social Justice from Queen’s University in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Yaffa brings together their various professional experiences and trainings, and their lived experience together to support and create pathways for transformation.
