Family Strong! Family Fun Fest
More than just a day of entertainment, the festival serves as a platform for fostering long-term relationships between families and community partners, ensuring ongoing support that promote well-being and resilience throughout the year. This annual tradition where fun meets purpose aims to strengthen family bonds, nurtures community connections, and encourages sustained collaboration, making it an important cornerstone for lasting family and community growth.
Youth Leadership Development
BSF has created a Youth Leadership Development curriculum used in the administration of the Illinois DCFS Youth Advisory Board program. We administer this program as adult partners guiding and assisting youth in the care of the child welfare system with having a voice and advocating for substantive systemic change.
Community Violence Prevention
Be Strong Families has always realized the importance of community violence prevention, understanding the important role that parents play in raising children to be non-violent.
Environmental Justice
Like climate change, environmental injustice affects communities of color and vulnerable communities disproportionately and consequently there is a natural intersectional opportunity to bridge the climate change activism and environmental justice fields with family-serving programs.
