Amani Rodriguez
(She / Her)
Training and Technical Assistance Consultant
Amani is a certified workshop facilitator and conducts seminars on educating teenagers about safe sex & STIs and teaches parents how to navigate and sustain difficult conversations with their teens & young adults. She is a former parent group leader for the Strengthening Families Program ages 6-11, holds a yellow belt in Lean Six Sigma, and has served on several community outreach work groups. Amani was trained to host Parent Cafés in 2019 and immediately fell in love with the model. She joined the National Parent Café Leadership Team in 2021 during the pandemic because she wanted to continue to do the work to help transform families. In the private sector, she has hosted Cafés for churches, schools, non-profit organizations, and families with the Department of Juvenile Justice.
It is her family-oriented foundation that motivates and drives her to help other families understand the importance of parent/child communication and the major impact it has on raising children to become healthy, well-rounded adults. She attributes this passion for healthy families to her mother and grandmother who dared to parent differently, encouraged communication, and always showed compassion for those in need. “It is my goal to help reduce the instances of adverse childhood experiences and allow our children to have a voice that needs to be heard.” Amani lives in South Carolina with her wonderful husband, three beautiful children, and an adorable granddaughter. Amani has a Bachelor of Social Work degree and is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work from Walden University.
