Be Strong Families trained a group from the University of Rochester Medical Center to host Parent Cafés in February 2024. A team of researchers lead by Dr. Nathaniel D. Bayer, MD will be studying the efficacy of Parent Cafés as a support group for parents of children with medical complexities. They are using a peer-to-peer model, with trained Café hosts being parents of children with medical complexity for at least two years, and the Café participants being parents of children recently diagnosed with medical complexity.
